Located at 7171 80 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T3J 0P6, Rasoi offers a menu combining Indian favourites with Hakka Chinese dishes. The restaurant is available for dine-in, takeout, pickup, and delivery.

Garlic Naan That Deserves a Mention

Let’s start with the garlic naan.

Fresh naan is one of those simple things that can make an entire meal better, and the garlic naan we had at Rasoi was a standout.

Warm, soft, and packed with garlic flavour, it was the perfect addition to the rest of our meal. In fact, garlic naan is also one of the breads featured on Rasoi’s menu, alongside butter naan, Peshwari naan, roti, parathas, and several types of kulcha.

Sometimes the best part of a meal is having that piece of naan ready to scoop up every last bit of sauce.

The Meat Sampler

The other item we tried was the meat sampler, and this was where the meal really came together.

A sampler is a great way to experience several flavours in one sitting, especially when you’re visiting a restaurant with a menu that offers so many different options.

Rasoi’s menu features a wide range of meat dishes, including chicken, goat, fish, prawns, and several different curry preparations. There are also tandoori and Hakka-inspired options to explore.

For us, the meat sampler was an excellent choice because it gave us the opportunity to enjoy a variety of flavours rather than committing to just one dish.

Indian Food Meets Hakka Chinese

One of the things that makes Rasoi particularly interesting is that it isn’t limited to traditional Indian cuisine.

The restaurant also offers Hakka Chinese dishes, creating a menu where you can explore Indian favourites alongside Indo-Chinese flavours.

That means you can come in craving butter chicken and naan, but someone else at the table can order Hakka noodles, chili chicken, or another Hakka-inspired dish.

It’s a great setup for groups where everyone might be looking for something a little different.

A Calgary Restaurant Worth Exploring

Rasoi is located in Northeast Calgary and is open seven days a week, with the NE location currently listed as operating from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

The restaurant also offers online ordering, making it an option whether you’re looking for a sit-down meal or something to bring home.

And while there are plenty of dishes on the menu that we haven’t had the opportunity to try yet, our experience with the garlic naan and meat sampler was enough for us to say:
